Nine Planet Astrology

The planets used in Astrology are those celestial bodies which are visible to the naked eye.  There are nine celestial bodies used in total: Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Rahu and Ketu.  Rahu and Ketu are the north and south nodes of the moon respectively and have the nature of a shadow. Rahu can be seen during a lunar or solar eclipse and Ketu is its axial counterpart. 

Each of these planets, or Grahas, have their own; characteristics, associations, nature and power.  The Power of the planets has to do with the orbital relationships of the planets and are used when working with the planet for remedial or ritual purposes.
