What is astrology?

According to the Miriam Webster dictionary, there are two definitions of astrology:

  1. The divination of the supposed influences of the stars and planets on human affairs and terrestrial events by their positions and aspects

  2. Archaic: astronomy

Studied and relied upon throughout time, the stars have provided both an inspiration and guiding light. Traditionally not separate from astronomy, astrology focuses on observing terrestrial and celestial phenomena such as the movement of the planets through which knowledge and insight into the past, present and future can be gained.

This knowledge can be directly applied to help mankind as time itself is established by the movement of the earth and its relation with other celestial bodies. For example, Astrologers of the past were proficient in predicting the timing of natural disasters, as well as the magnitude and location allowing people to prepare and avert a certain level of misfortune and mishap.

Astrology in this practice encompasses focusing on celestial phenomena that relates directly with individual’s lives.  This includes but is not limited to;  helping us find paths in our lives that best suit our potential and capacity, determine auspicious times for events, and to provide methods to boost one’s overall fortune.
