ราศี Rasi

Commencing in Aries and concluding in Pisces, the 12 Rasi are suspended across the celestial ecliptic, encircling the Earth. Commonly known aspects of astrology, the Rasi are part of the backdrop in which one can calculate and study time.

Years and months are based on the progression of the Sun through the 12 Rasi. The Sun moves through the Rasi one degree per day, taking 30 days for one Rasi and 12 cycles for the whole zodiac. This makes 360 days or one solar year.

Like all other aspects of Astrology, each Rasi has its own characteristics and significations.  In addition, each Rasi is ruled by one or more of the  planets and holds domain over part of the human body for use in medical astrology.
